Boneheads vs. Jarheads
Contributed by Russ Vaughn TIME Magazine, that bastion of objective news reporting, where journalistic ethics are disappearing even faster than their readers (circulation rates down 17.5% in 2007 from the previous year according to Wikipedia) has trashed an American patriotic icon with its latest cover: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=293411344350742 The cover is insulting to all American warriors but constitutes absolute sacrilege to one particular branch of American fighting men. TIME’s clueless, liberal editors may have endeared themselves to Al Gore and his Green Lemmings but they have surely incurred the wrath of a far more formidable green organization, the entire present and past United States Marine Corps, the lean, mean Green Machine. They have another group of fellow travelers who are green on the outside and pink on the inside. A friend sent me a link to a counter-protest held by Marine veterans against the "recruiting station" of "Code Pink" near Berkeley. "Marine Vets Give Code Pink a Taste of Their Own Medicine" As a physicist, a Vietnam war veteran, and a patriotic God-fearing American, I prefer to follow the lead of our founders, who were "Conservationists" who understood the imperative to be good stewards of the Earth and all that is on it but to worship the Creator, not the creation. If we continue on our present path to disaster, brought on by destroying our economy and our way of life in the name of junk science, whoever takes over this country after we fall will have little regard for strip mining, drilling in national parks, and clear cutting our forests to provide for THEIR needs. "The Great Experiment" will end up nothing more than a footnote in history, and America will become little more than a source of resources for other nations to plunder after we have committed national suicide. The "Full Circle" of hard lessons that were learned in past and present conflicts for them and Our Country are equally extraordinary as well. For This Ole Soldier who served in the Vietnam War there are a few that remain permanently etched in the archives of my mine, among them are 1. Freedom is not Free, it is very costly and is something the protected will never know. 2. Any Combat Veteran knows all to well the things that really matter! And among them is one thing that this Country and the Majority of the Citizens still to this day very simply, have not absorbed..... Do not fear your enemy, for the enemy can only take your life. It is far better that your fear the Media, The Protesters, The Politicians and our Government "For They Will Steal Your Honor" Former U.S. Army Paratrooper Bravo Company 2/506th 101st Airborne Division and Crew Chief / Door Gunner 240th Assault Helicopter Company RVN 67-69 God Bless America and Our Troops Danny Clark Sr

I will always be humbled by their sacrifices. Although I am the least among them, I am one of the proudest to have even been among these men and women. Their Honor never dies.
