2007.12.15 Politics and National Defense Roundup
Contributed by Bill Faith As the primaries draw nearer, I guess I should state something explicitly that I hope everyone reading this blog realizes anyway: Any opinions I express about any of the prospective presidential candidates are mine alone and are not necessarily shared by the other members of the Old War Dogs pack. That said, I'm free to state for the record that I think Mike Huckabee would be the worst President this country has seen since Jimmy Carter, only slightly better than a Democrat, and I'll work hard at making sure you know why you should vote for someone else in the primaries. I'm not too thrilled about Mitt or Rudy either, but in their cases I'll try hard to remember The Eleventh Commandment. ("Thou shalt speak no evil of a fellow Republican." -- I'm not at all convinced Huckabee or Paul either one qualify for protection under that rule.) The only one with any chance of getting the nomination that I could actually feel really good about voting for is Fred Thompson, and I'll continue to do my best to make sure you understand why. Quick hits:
