Healing Walter Reed - The Rest of the Story from the Chaplain
By Matthew Currier Burden (Blackfive)

First, having visited Walter Reed many times to visit wounded friends, I never even knew that Building 18 existed. I do know that there were some complaints in the hospital that were not addressed very expeditiously (or at all). And I worry about this media frenzy's affect on the excellent, world class doctors, nurses and therapists that have seen my friends through hell and assisted them on the road to a healthy recovery.

Michelle already captured the MilBlogger responses (those who've gone through or are still patients at WRAMC).

In the ongoing information deluge about the Walter Reed "scandal", I just received this message (via a retired Marine Recon Sergeant who has gotten many exclusives for Blackfive.net) from the Chief Chaplain at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I thought you should read it:

FROM THE CHIEF OF CHAPLAINS WRAMC

I have had enough and am going to give my perspective on the news about Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Please understand that I am speaking for myself and I am responsible for my thoughts alone. The news media and politicians are making it sound like Walter Reed is a terrible place and the staff here has been abusing our brave wounded soldiers; what a bunch of bull! ...
