It's not all that complicated, folks.
John McCain wants to change DC, Barack Obama wants to change America.
One candidate believes in and cares about this country, one doesn't.
It's your vote. Make it count.

WaPo Weasels II
Contributed by Russ Vaughn

Want to slam our soldiers, Arkin?
Well here is one to slam.
I got used to Lefty slamming
When I came back from Vietnam.
So you want to put a muzzle
On our brave fighting men?
Well try muzzling me you jerk,
Just tell me where and when.

Your profession needs a lesson
In basic free speech rights,
For those you worms all hide behind,
For those who fight your fights.
Like all your soft and smarmy kind,
You really have no clue,
Who American warriors truly are,
What our warriors truly do.

How many times in your four years
As a chair-borne analyst,
Were you within an ocean’s width
Of combat’s hard mailed fist?
How many medals did you earn
In those warrens at Fort Meade?
In four years of four-eyed service,
Just what was your bravest deed?

FOX news has combat warriors
To help us understand the score,
While MSM uses clerks like you,
Who have never been to war.
Your resentment of your betters,
Seeps through your bitter writing,
And shows you have no clue or care
Of those who do the fighting.

Like your ivy-cloistered Comrades, your war’s between the classes,
Dialectics, speeches, theory, your heads firmly up your asses.

SSGT Vaughn,

Can I just say, YOU ROCK! I love your poem and I love even more that you stick it to Arkin. On a more serious note, thank you for your service. My uncle fought in Vietnam as well and the stories of how you were treated when you returned home still turn my stomach. On behalf of the next generation, please accept my apology. And know that on my watch, that will NOT happen again!

SSGT Vaughn,

Thank you for your service and your voice. I can not tell you or our soldiers how angry I am with the likes of Arkin. These Arkin types believe themselves to be patriots. If they are patriots they are patriots of another country.

Loved your poem. It is truthful, hard-hitting, and well done. I am one of those people of your generation who always admired our soldiers and marines in Vietnam. Several million died when we stopped even giving arms to the South Vietnamese so they could carry on the fight. That was a disgrace to our many dead and wounded, some of whom were classmates of mine. Sad that our generation also has some spoiled and narcissistic useful idiots that lead this country astray to this day. Thank you for your service to our country. May God bless you and yours.

Somebody call Toby Keith ... Russ Vaughn just penned the lyrics to his next hit record.

If I may, Sir ... Currahee!

Thank you, SIR! For your poem, for your service and for having the courage of your convictions and not letting the @@@@@@@'s quiet your voice! Keep it up!

I am the very proud wife of a Viet Vet, retired Marine, sister and cousin of several Viet vets, mother of an Army paratrooper, mother-in-law of an Army female soldier, aunt of Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force personnel...who is as sick of the MSM as I am proud and grateful for our military.

Thank you. My first husband was killed in Vietnam. Thank you for defending him and all other servicemen from the likes of Arkin. BTW, Iowahawk is doing his part, too.

Bravo - well done. I am a former Army officer married to a Viet Nam vet. My stepson is an Army captain who just returned from a year in Iraq - not behind a desk but humping the mean streets of Baghdad and my son is in Army ROTC and plans to serve when he graduates. I live in Gettysburg, PA and reminders of the sacrifices of brave soldiers are everywhere. Washington DC is only 1.5 hrs. from here. I am seriously toying with the idea of visiting Mr. Arkin to give him a piece of my mind. On second thought, maybe I'll just read your poem. Outstanding!! And as someone who always thought that viet Nam was a noble cause, I thank you for your service.

Well said. Where is WaPo Weasels I?

Just remember, whenever these useful idiots open their mouths to spew hot air, you could sum up every last word with this phrase: "head, meet ass."

Folks like Arkin want to hate America without being labeled as such just like they want to use class warfare to turn this country to socialism while enjoying the spoils of capitalist wealth from their hamlets.

The best way to combat the threat of today's Progressives is to call them out for what they are, loudly and clearly, so that all Americans can see their warts.

Thanks for doing so.

Thank you sir, for your inspirational poem and your brave service to our country. What Arkin and his like keep forgetting is that there are tens of millions of patriotic, loyal Americans who believe in what our troops are doing overseas. Stay safe and when you are finished, come home to us so that we can salute you in person.

Thank you for your service and your insightful prose. Someone needed to wake up that venom spewing varmit that obviously has no respect for those who have risked their lives willingly so he can say that garbage.

A NOTE TO WOULD BE TROLLS

Attacks on authors on this blog, and especially attacks on Viet Nam vets in general, will be deleted the moment I find out about them. Oppose the war? Fine. Start a blog and explain why. Don't waste your time trying to do it on my bandwidth.

Loved your poem, and thank you for your service.

I was pleased to see the comment police taking over on your site. To hell with giving those who would do harm a platform. Drip by drip our enemies TRY and weaken our resolve.

Arkin's statements were born out of ignorance of both the history and current state of this country.
This poem is the perfect response to such an obtuse little man.

Thanks from the proud sister of a Persian Gulf vet who died on 9/11 in the cockpit of AA77. Arkin is clearly a bitter wannabe, a "military expert" poser who has no guts, no grace and no gratitude for our magnificent warriors.

When I returned from Viet Nam in 1970 a young man at LAX tried to spit on me. The ensuing look on his face told me that he had no idea that a cane could travel such distance, at such speed and with such accuracy. I was not surprised by the scream that eminated from his mouth; reminiscent of a female at age 6.

I applaud that Mr Arkin has been "caned" as well.

Thank you so much! Thank you for this awesome blog and thank you for this post. Thanks Russ for your writing of this.

I am so upset about Arkin my blood is boiling. He is right there with others like Hanoi Jane, Kerry and their ilk. He is the enemy within, he is my enemy and I will never forgive nor forget what this Arkin has written and said. Never.

God bless out troops, our military and thank God for our Veterans. ( except the likes of Kerry who imo has lost his Veteran status big time by the things he has done and what he is.I will never thank him for anything)

Thanks for the poem brother. I've been thinking the same thoughts for 39 years about alot of those people; but not talented enough to express them the way you did. Thanks again. From an old combat soldier formaly of Recon 1/16th Inf. 1st Infantry Div.(Vietnam)

I think we should lay off Murtha. He is going to keep the heat on the Neocon SOBs (Cheney, Rove, etc.) who are as much a friend of our troops as the lefties. As far as Arkin and his fellow travelers Joel Stein and Seymour Hersch go, lets have a CANE party!
