It's not all that complicated, folks.
John McCain wants to change DC, Barack Obama wants to change America.
One candidate believes in and cares about this country, one doesn't.
It's your vote. Make it count.

The glib nature of my last post may have been unintentionally misleading.

Sending the National Guard to our border was a blatant political act; cynically made by one who has shown little interest in actually securing our borders.

This current 'surge' has similar earmarks. Units have been moved, as needed, within the Iraqi theater since we crossed that border. Troop strength has varied, etc.

Steps that would actually do some good are being bypassed in favor of expedience!

I keep hoping that there is something going on 'out-of-view' and each time there is nothing good under the covers.

President Bush has my respect as President, and as CinC, but I am furious with him and myself.

Kerry is one of the most loathsome critters around, and yet... and yet... there is some growing merit in the old saying "better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

Think about it!

Me, I'm pretty tired of having my hopes and expectations trashed by someone I wanted to trust. At least a President Kerry would be an easy target for criticism... I'd KNOW he'd do the wrong thing and expect it.

Hey, Zero,

So, you're longing for JFK2 to be in charge, just so you can needle him? Come on, you can needle him all you want right now. No lack of soft targets there. As for the Prez, it is a bit like Clinton--at least he's trying. His speech did have a couple of good ideas, notably relaxing the ROE. Lotsa luck, Bushie. The JAGs set those, and they'll most likely go their own way, regardless of what the president or one or two 4-stars want. The big thing is that he seems to have awakened to the fact that these new "IEDs"--nothing the least bit "improvised" there, quite the contrary--these new roadside bombs that are capable of brewing up an Abrams are open warfare on us, waged with impunity by Iran. Who knows? maybe he actually has plans for them? He'd better...time is running out.

Yes. Bush is trying. Very trying. I understand your frustration, but as for this proclaimed "Viet Nam Baby Killer" - I would have (as even now, still would)vote even for Monkey al Sadr before I'd cast a vote for Lying John. A few things go beyond even politics or national security. Kerry is one of those few things
