Oy, vey! And I went to sleep on such a high!

Israel Denies Claims It's Preparing Nuke Attack on Iran

Israel's Foreign Ministry is denying a British newspaper report that claims Jerusalem has drafted plans for a low-level nuclear strike on Iran to wipe out its uranium enrichment facilities using nuclear-tipped "bunker busters." ...

Bummer. I'll update my longer post here if/as I learn more.

As Papa Ray quite properly reminds us, military services are always preparing or updating contingency plans.
And both military services and governments usually do not like to preannounce surprise oeprations - that takes all the surprise out of surprise. And governments ahve been known to lie.

So Israeli denials mean one of three things, 1. They were never planning on any such attack in the first place, or 2. They were preparing the attack and cancelled it because the damn newspaper spilled the beans, or 3. They were preparing, and still are, but are dissembling now to restore the surprise factor.
Gee, things are now back to an uncertain status, that I like best. I can imagine the Israeli PM saying "How many nukes do I have left? Do you feel lucky Imapunkejad? Make my day."
