Will He Run Again?
Contributed by The Gray Dog As the shenanigans of selecting leadership positions for House Democrats settles, the media will soon turn all of its attention toward the 2008 Presidential Election. While the usual suspects in each party begin to form exploratory committees, the bloggers and pundits will anoint a new candidate each morning only to depose them by late afternoon. Who has traction? Who energizes the base? Who has the best hair? What I find interesting is the process each party will use to arrive at a final decision. The Republicans will probably be dull as usual. An ex-Speaker, an ex-Mayor and a sitting Senator seem to be the best the GOP has to offer at this time. Not a formula for success. On the other hand, the Democrats have taken a trick from their liberal environmental handbook for 2008. They’re recycling! The loser in 2000, the loser in 2004 and yes even Hillary is a retread. Also, not normally a formula for success, but then again, they just took back Congress with nothing to offer except estrogen replacing testosterone at the Speaker’s position. Given the fact that they so easily won with so little, I think the Republicans might be wise to consider the recycling angle. Factoid: Actually, the Republicans are the masters of recycling. Since 1952, with only one exception, there are three last names that have appeared on each Republican National ticket. Who are they? Bonus question: who were the exceptions? Answer at the end of this post. |

Yes, first non-human candidate. That's right. I'd like a chance to vote for Mr. T. Gray Dog for president. he'll totally chew up the opposition. Posted by: | Nov 15, 2006 11:53:58 PM |
