Culpa everybody but us
Contributed by George Mellinger

And now the Washington (dumb as a) Post admits mistakes were made.

WE'RE RELUCTANT to return to the subject of former CIA employee Valerie Plame because of our oft-stated belief that far too much attention and debate in Washington has been devoted to her story and that of her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, over the past three years.

But still...

That's not to say that Mr. Libby and other White House officials are blameless.

They should have had the decency to just roll over for the opposition.  And let Joe Wilson go unchallenged. But in the end...

Nevertheless, it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials.

Ane where was al-WaPo Crapo during the last three years? Aside from trying to find a Watergate-style chain of confessions to the evil Cheney and Bush. Lying is not defined by any relationship to the truth, but by one's relationship to the Muslim Sucking Media.

Excellent, George. I was going to do a post on that after bit but I wouldn't have handled it nearly so well. I hope you won't be upset with me for adding a couple of links to the bottom of it.

Dogs,

Interesting OPED piece in today's Investor's Business Daily
Entitled "Did Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald Lie?"
http://www.investors.com/editorial/

Fitzgerald knew day one that Richard Armitage, not I Lewis Libby, was the first to mention Plame to the press. The Libby indictment erroneously states that Libby first revealed her identity.

Libby and Cheney were the Iraq Hawks while Powell and Armitage opposed an Iraq war.

Did Armitage get a pass because he and his boss were doves and did not fit the political mold? (i.e., frogmarch Karl Rove, indict Cheney, impeach Bush....)

I have some questions about the culpability of Joseph Wilson, IV. Did Fitzgerald interview him? If so, what did he say on the record? If not, why not? If all this was BS, did he make any false official statements at CIA? to FBI? to Special Prosecutor?

Very interesting perspective particularly on Special persecutor Fitzgerald. An impressive arrival Arch. Hope to see you originating your own in the near future.
