Flag etiquette: Do's and don'ts

Labor Day weekend brought out another round of pro-illegal alien rallies across the country. Having learned from previous p.r. bungles, organizers once again made sure American flags were in abundance.
It seems, however, that the amnesty activists who drape themselves in red, white, and blue remain woefully unfamiliar with basic flag do's and dont's. I offer some friendly advice (photos via YahooNews! and AZCentral.com)...

Today's most ludicrous news story comes from Agence France-Presse: an article titled "US Muslims plagued by discrimination after 9/11 attacks."
The AFP piece alleges that: Discrimination and harassment by law enforcement have come to plague American Muslims in the years since the terrorist attacks of September 11.
There have been suspicious looks, slurs, physical attacks, extra screening at airports and arrests on groundless charges.
And it seems to be getting worse.

In the person of Kofi Annan, the UN yet once again reveals itself as a pathetic joke. NATO Presses Advantage Against Taliban
The new offensive against the Taliban remnants in Afghanistan, Operation Medusa, has dealt a severe blow to the forces of Mullah Omar. Over 200 Taliban fighters have died in the fighting, while NATO has only suffered four combat deaths: More than 200 Taliban fighters have been killed in a major Nato offensive in southern Afghanistan, along with four Canadian troops.
Operation Medusa, launched by alliance and Afghan forces in the Panjwai district of Kandahar province, involved hundreds of troops, backed by warplanes and helicopter gunships.

A British tourist died today and five other tourists seriously wounded when a Jordanian gunmen opened fire, reportedly shouting Allahu Akbar! ("God is great!) as he attacked: A gunman has shot dead a British tourist in the center of Amman and wounded five tourists and a Jordanian tourist police officer, Jordanian officials said.
The casualties included the British man who died, two other wounded Britons and the Jordanian, Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh said. One Dutch person, an Australian and a New Zealander were also wounded. ...
"Allahu Akbar:" No rest for jihad
I'd wish you a happy Labor Day, but there's no holiday for the infidel-haters. A Jordanian jihadi (another "lone shooter") attacked Western tourists in central Amman today, killing one British man and wounding several others. Guess what he shouted as he gunned them down: A British man was killed today when a lone gunman shouting "Allahu Akbar!" ("God is Great") started firing at a group of Western tourists in the Jordanian capital Amman.
A government spokesman said that five other tourists - two British women, one Australian woman, one New Zealand woman and a Dutch man - were injured in the attack as well as their Jordanian tour guide.

A Word On The Ambulance Story

As Powerline here and Tim Blair here have linked this post of mine on the ambulance controversy, I want to make something very clear. I am not suggesting I buy the media's behavior in this incident, or necessarily their story. I am only pointing out what, to me, is the existence a hole in the roof of another ambulance allegedly attacked. That's a far cry from suggesting I know how it got there, or that I'm comfortable given that the media reporting this story had no access to the vehicle during the early reporting.
