It's not all that complicated, folks.
John McCain wants to change DC, Barack Obama wants to change America.
One candidate believes in and cares about this country, one doesn't.
It's your vote. Make it count.

Leak: CIA interrogation techniques revealed

They’re seeking Congressional authorization for seven discrete procedures, each more brutal than the last. The Guardian has a complete list. Click here if you want to see, but be forewarned — they’re extremely graphic. The “attention grab,” in particular, is the stuff of which nightmares are made.

McCain’s on a moral masturbation tour of New Hampshire right now in which he nobly asserts that belly-slapping Khaled Sheikh Mohammed would make us no better than terrorists without ever actually explaining how and why. The Times covered it, and as you can see, the fix is in: ...

Popemania:
“Moderate” cleric Qaradawi calls for peaceful “day of anger”

They’re just going to try it out, see how it flies. Just to vent some of those grievances they keep bottled up inside the other 364 days of the year. What could go wrong?

It’s scheduled for Friday, of course. After prayers, when everyone’s feeling extra “pious.” ...

Video: Daniel Pipes on Popemania

Not a guy who gets a lot of offers to do TV, but perhaps that’s changing now that he’s been name-checked by Al Qaeda. ...

Video: MD Dems attack Steele
as a ‘Republican’ who supports George Bush

... Wait, wait. Michael Steele is a Republican AND he supports President Bush! That’s just…stunning. Thanks, Maryland Democrats for running this attack ad, because if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have known Steele’s political allegiances....

Anthrax attacks: 5 years later

Have you forgotten? Five years ago today, someone--still unknown--sent letters laced with anthrax to the NYPost and NBC News. Two more letters, postmarked October 9, 2001, were sent to Sens. Tom Daschle and Pat Leahy with even more refined ("weaponized") anthrax:

Fat traitor Adam Gadahn spotted last month in Pakistan

The Pakistanis are hot on his trail, says the Blotter. Or were, before that “peace deal” with the Taliban turned the tribal areas into a no-go zone for the national military. ...

Smug, Bush-hating, atheist HuffPo
contributor: Liberals dangerously soft on terror

Allahpundit

Somehow Mary K and I ended up in a debate about religion last night, and I told her that if you showed me “Loose Change” and “The Greatest Story Ever Told” and asked me which one was more likely to be true, I dare say I’d gots to go with the LC. She took that in good humor, secure in the knowledge that I’d soon be consumed with guilt for having compared, however obliquely, Christians to appalling morons like Dylan Avery. She was right. ...

Iran attack:
Thousands of sorties, terrorist reprisals, virtually no benefit

Ellsberg’s been begging “conscientious insiders” in the military to leak the plans. We’re halfway there: Time claims to have been given a broad operational outline.

The verdict? ....

When Atheists and Secularists Quote Scripture
Bryan Preston

I probably shouldn’t wade into this, but it does dovetail with something I’ve been pondering lately. Namely, that an essentially post-Christian West comes to the battle with Islamism, Islamofascism, caliphascism, or whatever you want to call the demon that animates al Qaeda and apparently millions of Muslims across the globe to hate the West and work toward our destruction, ill-equipped to understand and confront the foe. This inability to get into the enemy’s head and heart makes it harder for us to win.  ...

Newsweek’s Isikoff willfully misquoted Gonzales torture memo

It must have been willful, no? Even if you’re inclined to blame a copy editor for the missing ellipsis, the question remains: why was he using an ellipsis and not the full quote in the first place?

We all make mistakes. The thing about Izzy is, his mistakes always seem to cut the same way ...

The Religion of..
Michelle Malkin

...Fill In The Blank.

***

After you're done watching that, watch Dan Riehl's take. Read the latest death threats from members of The Religion of Fill-in-the-blank here and here and here:

The Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups that includes al-Qaeda in Iraq, issued a statement on a Web forum vowing to continue its holy war against the West. The authenticity of the statement could not be independently verified.

The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross" saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword." ...

“Path to 9/11″ screenwriter slams lefty hysteria

“Fact-checkers and lawyers scrutinized every detail, every line,” he says. Which is great. But um, what’s with the composite scenes, then?

No matter. As with images of George Bush being shot through the heart, it’s “larger truths” we’re after here. One such truth being that if your reality doesn’t have the reality-based seal of approval, you’d best wear Kevlar:

The hysteria engendered by the series found more than one target. In addition to the death threats and hate mail directed at me, and my grotesque portrayal as a maddened right-winger, there developed an impassioned search for incriminating evidence on everyone else connected to the film. And in director David Cunningham, the searchers found paydirt!

Our new store's kinda sorta ready to go except we don't have anything for sale yet. Need to work out a licensing deal on an image we want to use before we start selling things, haven't heard back from the guy yet. Reckon he took the weekend off or something? Guess now's the time to start telling me I messed up the color scheme and so on.
