The Arizona 9/11 memorial disgrace Michelle Malkin
You have got to see the entire stomach-turning photo series of the Arizona 9/11 memorial disgrace over at Hot Air. Many thanks to Hot Air commenter AZ Patriot for taking the pics.
The blogswarm has been building over the moonbattered memorial, which was supposedly built so that future generations will not forget the tragic losses of life and the inspiration, heroism and lessons learned that day," but which stands as a Blame America monument that will make the despoilers of Ground Zero and the Flight 93 Red Crescent memorial jealous. ...
Photo series: The Arizona 9/11 Memorial Allahpundit
A million thanks to AZ Patriot, who did yeoman’s work for us today by heading over there and snapping these pics. I think this is the whole series but I’m not sure; he hasn’t responded to my e-mail yet.
Here they are, in sequence. I’ve made the “interesting” ones full size. The rest are clickable thumbnails. One of the full size images towards the end having to do with “terrorist organizations” got cut off. Hopefully AZP will stop by and tell us what the full inscription says. Bear in mind as you go that the memorial’s website describes it thusly: ...
A perfect audience Paul Mirengoff
Much was made this week of the bizarre anti-American speeches given by President "Twelfth Imam" Ahmadinejad and Hugo "Bush Stinks" Chavez at the U.N. this week. Even some members of the Democratic left were offended.
Little has been made, however, of the reception these two crackpots received from U.N. delegates. Both were big hits, particularly Chavez who was able to meld the talking points of the secular left into a comedy act sufficiently low brow to delight his fellow thugs who comprised a critical mass of the audience on the U.N. floor. ...
Why Didn't Wallace Ask the Bush Administration? He Did John Hinderaker
In his interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News, Bill Clinton came across as embarrassingly low-class, as in this exchange: So you did FOX’s bidding on this show. You did you[r] nice little conservative hit job on me. But what I want to know...
WALLACE: Now wait a minute sir…
CLINTON:..
WALLACE: I asked a question. You don’t think that’s a legitimate question?
CLINTON: It was a perfectly legitimate question but I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked this question of. I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked why didn’t you do anything about the Cole. I want to know how many you asked why did you fire Dick Clarke.
When Wallace replied that such questions had been asked, Clinton responded: "I don’t believe you asked them that.”
He did, though, as Patterico documents:
Video: Fox covers Arizona 9/11 memorial controversy Allahpundit
From blogs to Drudge to FNC. Tinker to Evers to Chance, baby.
We need to work DR out of the equation, though. Open up an info pipeline directly to Fox HQ.
You know, the way the nutroots does with Olbermann.
One of our readers says he’s heading out to the memorial today or tomorrow to take pictures of all the slogans. We’ll know soon enough exactly how much propaganda this thing is tagged with. ...
Londonistan alert: No raids without Muslim approval Michelle Malkin
For. Crying. Out. Loud:
Times of London reports: "Police to brief Muslims before terror raids" Police have agreed to consult a panel of Muslim leaders before mounting counter-terrorist raids or arrests. Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid.
Tigerhawk blasts the policy: ...
He doth protest too much
Wallace to Clinton: "You seem upset."
Check out Hot Air highlights of the Wallace-Clinton fireworks on Fox News Sunday. Wallace was terrific. Unflappable. Unrelenting. Unapologetic. Clinton was a basket case.
Newsbusters has the transcript.
"Conservative hit job?" Right. Ask your wife about that Clinton-hating Rupert Murdoch.
Allah on Clinton's math: ...
The October Surprise Meme Arises Again
At one time, paranoid conspiracists comprised only the lunatic fringe of American politics. Yesterday, former Senator Gary Hart reminded us of why Democrats have managed to lose three straight elections that they should have won by announcing that the Bush administration would attack Iran in order to win the midterm elections: It should come as no surprise if the Bush Administration undertakes a preemptive war against Iran sometime before the November election.
Were these more normal times, this would be a stunning possibility, quickly dismissed by thoughtful people as dangerous, unprovoked, and out of keeping with our national character. But we do not live in normal times. ...
Intel Report: Fighting Terrorists Creates Terrorists
(2006-09-25) — A newly-leaked top-secret National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) from April 2006 reveals that America’s 16 spy agencies have finally discovered that terrorists are created by attempts to defeat terrorists. ...
Right on both counts
I think it was Mark Twain who said somethin' to the effect "Gettin' old's a real drag but it still beats the alternative. Friends and neighbors, I'm here to testify he was right. On both counts. Bought that new mouse cuz the old one was actin' flaky, found out part of the problem's me. Maybe I just need more rest; I hope. I just slowed my mouse down so I have a better chance of gettin' the cursor where I want it and set it to double-click when I click the wheel once. Gonna get the new store open and the new site banner up during the wee hours of tomorrow morning, then I'm gonna collapse for a while.
NIE: Ending 12-Year Iraqi Quagmire Made Terrorism Worse
The new National Intelligence Estimate will report that the Iraq War has amplified Islamist movements and created a new generation of jihadists, according to the New York Times, which saw an advance copy of the summary and spoke to several sources involved in its creation. (The Washington Post also reports on it here.) Mark Mazetti explains how the various intelligence agencies have concluded that our efforts to topple Saddam have inspired even more radicalism, but strangely absent from this report is how Islamist expansion managed to exponentially grow in the twelve years that we attempted to resolve the Iraq quagmire peacefully: ... [...]
It's a fascinating article, and one CQ readers should read in its entirety. It makes the classic logical fallacy of confusing correlation with causation, and the basic premise can easily be dismissed with a reminder of some basic facts. ...
Iraq As Switzerland?
Sunni legislators in Iraq's National Assembly have agreed to allow debate on a proposal to restructure Iraq into three semi-autonomous cantons along federalist principles, a proposal that they have opposed since the formation of the new republic in 2003. The other factions agreed to set up a constitutional amendment committee in order to get the Sunnis to retreat on federalism: ...

Remembering Sgt. Paul Smith
Derek Brigham of Freedom Dogs has arranged for a Minnesota Organization of Bloggers blogburst in memory of Sgt. Paul Smith, the first Medal of Honor recipient in the global war on terror. I wrote about Sgt, Smith when his heroism in battle first got him nominated for the posthumous award in May 2004, and again earlier this year for Memorial Day. Today is Sgt. Smith's birthday, and thanks to his actions in protecting his men, more than 100 of them will see their next birthdays.
Here again is the story of Sgt. Paul Smith's heroic actions: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, March 3, 1863, has awarded in the name of Congress the Medal of Honor to

Outrage over Arizona 9/11 memorial ready to go nuclear?
There’s something about it on Drudge as I write this. Red-fonted. With a photo.
Getting the photo accompaniment on DR is like getting a guest shot on Ed Sullivan during his heyday. You’ve made it. You’ve arrived.
This story has arrived. ...
"Scheduled" upgrades --- Grrrrr!
I lost the ability to make changes to Old War Dogs promptly at midnight due to "scheduled" TypePad upgrades. Sure was nice of them to let me know in advance so I could plan appropriately. Grrrrr!
