Moonbats and the Military

In an August 7th Newsweek piece, in which Jonathan Alter points out the potential disaster looming for the Democrats if the loons on the left get their way, the author quotes none other than that oracle of political wisdom, Monica Lewinski, on the perils of political risk-taking, as a way of introducing his thesis that Joe Lieberman is in trouble with the moonbats because of his aversion to such risk. As examples of this, Alter claims that Lieberman’s troubles predate the infamous presidential smooch, going back to the 2000 election when as VP candidate, he went easy on Dick Cheney during the vice-presidential debates and then in the hectic aftermath of that election, committed this heinous violation:

“During the Florida recount, he made a point of favoring military absentee ballots likely to be Republican.”

Gasp! Well no wonder the moonbats are flapping! Can you imagine the outrageous nerve of a Democrat, who is aspiring to be next in line as commander in chief of America’s armed forces, favoring the inclusion of the ballots of those serving in faraway places to guard the very freedoms that make his election possible?

I said it back then when the Democrats tried to block those military votes and I say it again now: despite all their mouthed pieties about supporting the troops and wanting only the best for our armed forces, a very large segment of the Democrat Party is deeply, inherently anti-military. This antiwar crowd is heads-in-the-sand (actually I think their heads are firmly inserted elsewhere) ignoring history and the ultimate benefits to mankind wrought, albeit painfully, through wars; and with their dumb declaration that “wars never accomplish anything” they selfishly and callously deny the sacrifices of the troops who fight those wars and buy with blood, sweat and tears the very freedoms these moonbats now exploit in their subversion of our troops in the current conflict.

Every time some leftist starts mouthing platitudes about supporting the troops, someone should smack ‘em hard right in the mouth and then explain, “I’m just supporting your right of free speech the same way you support the troops.”

Joe Lieberman's problem is that he is an honorable man. Once upon a time, there were many honorable men (and women) in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. The new face of the party is the face of George Soros, Howard Dean, and the Daily Kos. Lieberman is obsolete, but they aren't content to just cast him aside. They have to burn him down as an example to others who resist the ascendancy of the new guard.

I'd like to believe that Joe Lieberman is an honest man. But if so, why does he voluntarily remain with a dishonorable mob. By voluntarily remaining with the DEMOs he asociates himself with them, and with their baggage. What the lawyers would call an accessory after the fact. If he is compromisig his principles for electoral advantage, does he still qualify as honorable? What if he compromised his principles in 2000 to run with al-Gore, and then compromised them back again after defeat? and now contemplates yet another compromise? And which set of principles is the real set which he is comprmising? and how can we tell. Joe Lieberman may have been the last honorable DEMO, but that ceased long ago. We need to get over it and move on.

Oh, yes, I always take my political advice from Monica...she knows everything! (Sorry, couldn't stop myself from the sarcasm!) ;)

Have already had a verbal run in with the local moonbats at their weekly one hour Friday antiwar protest. They haven't worn their red for friday "We Support The Troops" shirts since they were verbally taken to the woodshed. LOL They even got so scared they called for the police. LMAO. Those who profess to turn the other cheek at any cost are very quick to insist on law enforcement. I just call them out and out chickenshits! PC is not for me.

I am 100 percent in agreement, Russ. The Democrats have NEVER supported the troops, despite what they say. Of course, you know they are lying when their lips are moving. What they do support is illegal aliens, felons, non-registered voters and dead people voting. That is why they are trying to eliminate all voter identification cards and promote motor voter laws. Pathetic.

Moonbats only support the troops and protest against war, so that the regimes/governments they so adore will be left alone to prosper.

As transparent as the glass houses they live in.

You are so right Russ. What we all need to do is practice the above mentioned answer to a liberal opening their mouth everytime they try to cut our troops morale in two. I personally do not allow them to get away with it anywhere .Have embarrassed a few of them in restaurants lately because I'm sick and tired of their being no immediate recourse to their lying mouths unless we force them to eat their words in public. So you may hear of me being incarcerated in the very near future because of it. Will be my first time in jail but what the hell we got to stop them somewhere and it better be now rather than later.
