It's not all that complicated, folks.
John McCain wants to change DC, Barack Obama wants to change America.
One candidate believes in and cares about this country, one doesn't.
It's your vote. Make it count.

The Dissident Frogman has a cute little flash-movie he made to demonstrate step by step--and maybe exaggerate a tad?--how Adnan Hajj might have photoshopped the famous photo of southern Beirut that Reuters has withdrawn under withering fire from the blogosphere.  If you could use a couple minutes of comic relief, by all means go there.

Saw a great movie last night called "Lord of War". Basically a very interesting story about an Arms Dealer that really hits the jackpot after the fall of the Soviet Empire. Most of the film is based upon actual historic events. There was very little liberal politicizing, so I recommend that you rent it.

All Dogs:

OWW-OOOOH! It's broad daylight and I'm howling at the moon. I called old buddy Gene Harrison at the cell-phone number he left to reach him in England. He and his good lady are back home today. They went through the full horror of Brit and US security on Thursday, when it all started. It must have been pure unshirted hell. No doubt he'll give us an account.

To make my day complete, the postman just dropped off a huge mailing tube from Jim Bartimus with walking sticks for me and Gene both. Beautiful! Thanks a million, Jim. The perfect way to celebrate the safe return of my friends.

This is a copy of a comment I just posted at ATB.
In Alexandra's first post of the day, she reacts to the Kofi-Bush-Condi-Ohlmert fiasco. Excellent.

Mine was this:

Alexandra:

"Sigh..." Me too. What else is there?  Even at the height of the Cold War, I never experienced the oppressive forebodence that grips me now.  To recall something akin, I have to go back to when I was a sprout in the late 30s.  In those days the League of Nations was merely futile.  Kofi Annan's UN is virulently toxic, an active force for evil.  Why don't we bring it down?  Some budget cuts, the issuance of a few thousand Persona Non Grata orders, and a judicious exercise of eminent domain would do the trick.  Pipe dream.

Off topic, but something you might enjoy reading.  Russ Vaughn, ex-paratrooper of the 101st and the Internet's Robert Service, has an update of Kipling's IF-- in the NRO. Read and enjoy.

In case Russ resents being labelled as "the Internet's Robert Service--sorry, Russ I should have checked--he is invited to come back and bite me on the ass.

Welcome aboard Karl! Thanks for your service to our country both past and present. We look forward to your contributions and thank you in advance for taking the time to make OWD's one of the top blogs out there. Your prospective on current day event's along with your background will only make us stronger in the long run.
EOD work was near and dear to my heart also. It taught me several lessons in the process of getting to where I am now. At least it didn't get me killed in the process.
Have a good day Karl, you deserve it.

I want to join Jim in welcoming Karl Bossi. I have to confess I had no idea who he was until I read Bill's introduction. I look forward to getting acquainted when "Call Me Moose" arrives in the post.

Why  not really go overboard and call them Islamonazis?

Just in case anybody missed it, Hot Air brings us a brief, must-see video.  Hitlerjügend, born and bred in the USA, brainwashed by imams, out in the streets of Washington, DC chanting

"Red, White, Green and White,

We support Hezbollah's fight!"

It can't happen here?  I'ts happening right now.
