Captors Release Two FOX News Journalists
Kidnapped in Gaza Aug. 14

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Two FOX News journalists were released by their kidnappers Sunday, nearly two weeks after they were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip.

Steve Centanni, 60, and Olaf Wiig, 36, left Gaza and have since crossed into Israel after their release. The men left Gaza through the Erez border crossing.

The freeing of Centanni, a correspondent, and Wiig, a cameraman, ends the longest-running drama involving foreign hostages in Gaza.

I've been following this story all along without making any attempt to blog about it. I got to the party late, other blogs were providing excellent coverage, and to tell the truth I wasn't very optimistic about the outcome and couldn't see providing the jihadis with any more press than they were already getting. I can't let this happy occasion pass, though, without adding my voice to the chorus of joyous well-wishers. Steve and Olaf, welcome back to the civilized world.
