The Smell of Rat   

Listening to the talking heads and pundits discussing the War in Lebanon, I am struck by the lack of anyone’s observation of the lack of air defenses by Hizbollah. From all reports I’m seeing and reading, the Israelis totally own the airspace over Lebanon. As of the moment, I’ve heard not a word about any downed IAF aircraft. Now wouldn’t you think that in anticipation of a massive Israeli air attack in response to your provocations of killing and kidnapping their soldiers, as well as your firing of rocket barrages into their civilian communities, that you just might be prepared to knock down a few of those murderous Israeli aircraft?

Ok, so why haven’t we seen any air defense from Hizbollah? Could it possibly be that the Islamic terror organization and its Syrian and Iranian masters do not want to hinder the bombing of Hizbollah strongholds, cynically, and ever so deliberately positioned in the midst of civilian neighborhoods, thus inviting anti-Israel headlines in the world media? Oh no, they wouldn’t deliberately bait the Israelis into attacking targets that by their very pre-positioning would guarantee civilian casualties, would they? They wouldn’t by tactical, make that strategic, design, fail to defend their strongholds amidst these civilians to guarantee a maximizing of civilian casualties, would they?

Naaahhh…

Iran provides Hizbollah with sophisticated radar-guided shore-to-ship missiles capable of striking an Israeli gunboat at a range of several thousand meters but they won’t supply them with ground-to-air missiles capable of downing tactical aircraft at an altitude of a few hundred meters?

Does anyone besides me smell a rat here?
