The Commissar: Iraq was a mistake
Allahpundit

It’s times like these I wish the right had a bratty little jackass to excommunicate dissenters a la Peretz and Zengerle.

As it is, I guess we’ll have to politely hear him out and consider his argument.

The nut graf:

[...]

Our actions in Iraq have resulted in a civil war that we cannot control.

Such is his despair that he’s gone ahead and sketched out a partition proposal replete with maps.

Was the war a mistake? ...

I'm not ready to say invading Iraq was a mistake, but the Bush administration has definitely FUBARed the end game. Did we force a narrow corridor to Berlin and leave the rest of Germany in Nazi hands? Would nuking Tokyo have ended the Japanese problem? From the beginning we should have sent in enough troops to seal the borders and track down and kill every Baathist and jihadi in the country. If we had, there'd be very little need of American troops in country today and the Iranians and Syrians would be on their best behavior trying hard not to be next.
