War on Iran Has Begun

TEL AVIV, Israel — The war with Iran has begun.

Just last Friday, Iranian President Ahmadinejad warned that Israel's return to Gaza could lead to an "explosion" in the Islamic world that would target Israel and its supporters in the West. "They should not let things reach a point where an explosion occurs in the Islamic world," he said.
"If an explosion occurs, then it won't be limited to geographical boundaries. It will also burn all those who created [Israel] over the past 60 years," he said, implicitly referring to America and other Western nations who support Israel.

And from MEMRI: Iran and the Recent Escalation on Israel's Borders

It is possible that the escalation on Israel's borders, set off by elements supported by Iran - Hamas, Hizbullah and Syria - is meant to take the pressure off Iran by triggering a major military clash in the Middle East, which will divert international attention from Iran's nuclear program.

Been tracking this all day, I don't quite know when speculation devolved into almost certainty.

For better or worse, the next hours will define many things.

Bill,
Remember, I once commented on your STV site that Israel will play the role of Poland, as a country being attacked first by a Nazi regime, Iranian this time. We will come to Israel's defence. And Russia will play with Iranian fire until islamo-fascists explode a nuke somewhere in Russia, and then they will join the civilized world. We were all hoping that I was wrong. But, as much as I hate to say it, I think this scenario has started to play out. Some people now suggest that those rockets that hit Haifa were fired by Iranians in Lebanon, not by Hizbollah. And even if this is not the case, Hizbollah is still Iranian proxi.
Eric.
