It's not all that complicated, folks.
John McCain wants to change DC, Barack Obama wants to change America.
One candidate believes in and cares about this country, one doesn't.
It's your vote. Make it count.

Everyone Must Read This Story
Hatched by Dafydd

Hugh Hewitt read this post by David Bogner on the air Thursday, and I thought it was one of the best parables I've heard in years. I urgently urge y'all to read the whole thing; it's not that long, but it will stay with you for the rest of your life.

It's from a blog called Treppenwitz, which I think I should start reading regularly now. Here's the opening:

When I was in the Navy, I once witnessed a bar fight in downtown Olongapo (Philippines) that still haunts my dreams. The fight was between a big oafish Marine and a rather soft-spoken, medium sized Latino sailor from my ship.

What would be the condition of North America and the world had the United Nations had stopped the Civil War in late 1863. Probably the war would have resumed some time in the 1870s, and continued at intervals to the present. Either the Confederacy would have tried to redeem the states which had been conquered by the Union before the ceasefire had been imposed, or the Union would have resumed trying to finish off the remainder of the Confederacy.
What if the UN had stopped the bloodshed in Europe in October 1944?
Or even, what if there had been a brokered peace in 1779 in the North American Colonies?

War never solves anything - at least when it is not allowed to continue to a conclusion.
