Barksdale Air Force Base, located at Bossier City, Louisiana is among this country's most sensitive military bases. It is home to the 8 Air Force headquarters, and three Active Air Force Squadrons of B-52s of the 2 Bomb Wing, and a fourth Reserve USAF Squadron, and also the A-10As of the 47 Tactical Fighter Squadron, "the Dogpatchers", plus all the additional support equipment needed to keep such a force ready for operations. (Note- None of the foregoing information is classified) In the event of global SHTF, Barksdale would be one of the four or five most important US airbases, and is chock full of every sort of nuke that can be carried by B-52s. In the event of less serious, localized SHTF, those bombers could do as they've done in every war since Viet Nam, and drop tons of conventional bombs. And the A-10As have proven themselves as superb ground attack aircraft in Panama and Grenada, and all the wars since 2002.  As expected, Barksdale is also one of our most secure communications centers, and during the 9-11 dislocation, it was to Barksdale that President Bush was evacuated.

With all this you would presume that security at the base would be nearly as tight as the CIA, Pentagon, and NORAD. You or I could not just drive onto the base and give ourselves a tour. However, it does not seem to be off limits to foreigners. A news release announced that on Friday 25 "unidentified foreign nationals" with fraudulent documents had been arrested.

So we know that Illegal Mexicans can get in. How can our security distinguish between harmless Mexican illegals come just to cut the grass, and Venezuelan saboteurs, and Cuban spies, ore even Iranians with Spanish lessons? Aren't you comforted that DHS is on the job?
