Advertising space available
Contributed by Bill Faith

OK, so we aren't one of the real big dog sites on the web yet -- I'm projecting somewhere between 10 and 11 thousand visits by the end of our first month here -- but we have a great team of writers and a lot of 'tude, and as more of the Dogs get up to speed on TypePad things are only going to get better.

I guess BlogAds are invitation-only (Hint! Hint! Does anyone out there love us?) but there's no reason we can't rent out advertising space without their help. We're running ads now but with one exception they're pay-per-click or commission-on-sales ads that we're under no obligation to keep running if something better comes along. I could easily create space on our sidebar for 180 x 600 or smaller vertical ads and/or on the individual post pages for 468 x 60 (468 x something larger? I could go up to 468 x 500 if the price is right, or even 746 x 500. Come to think of it I could go 746 x a lot larger if you settle for being the bottom item on the individual post pages where you're less likely to be seen.)

Our traffic will grow as time goes on. My thinking till a few hours ago was that I'd accept ads for two weeks at a time so we could renegotiate based on our traffic. I guess we can still do things that way if anyone wants to but I'd also be willing to go 60 days at a time so that as traffic grows you're getting a real bargain by the end of the 60 days.  I might even consider longer periods; ask me.

Let's talk. Write me at bill.faith@gmail.com with the subject "Ads on Old War Dogs" or something close enough I don't think the mail's spam.

Thanks in advance.

Great web site. I'm a Vietnam Vet and served in Nha Trang as a young USAF captain in 1968 and 69. Led an EOD (Bomb Disposal) Team over there and lived to tell about it like you guys. Have been promoting my book, Just Call Me Moose! Growing Up Italian in America(all 5-star reviews on Amazon)in recent months and having a ball. See www.gondolapress.com. Strongly support what you guys are doing.

Best,
